Call for Local SEOs

document_edit.pngDo you offer local business listings as part of your SEO services? If so I would like to know.

I want to create an information site about local listings, similar in spirit to my website about the Google webmasters guidelines, feedthebot. (In other words, I don’t care if I make money off of it. I just want to create a resource.)

There are only two paths a business can take to create their listings.

Do it themselves.

Pay someone to do it.

If they want to do it themselves, I will provide info and tools to help them, if they want to pay someone to do it, I need to list options.

If you have a system for creating local business listings that is honest, reasonably priced, and useful for unsavvy clients please email me at guidelineguy@gmail.com (use “Local SEO” as a title) and I will check it out and possibly list you as a resource.

Note: One of my motivations for this is because some local SEOs create penalties for clients when/if they stop using their services, such as “delisting”. I actually get alot of complaints about this from people. I think the practice of deleteing clients listings just cause they stop paying you is bullshit, so if that is your way, you need not contact me :)

I’m not sure how you can “delist” a published LBL other than omit it from your feed to Google, et.al. Even so, it seems Google retains the profile anyway (why would they take it down once it’s published?) and the business owner can still edit and maintain their listing once they claim it. Right?
