Win Full Conference Pass to SMX Local and Mobile
Win a free pass to Danny Sullivan’s Search Marketing Expo in Denver, Colorado on October 1st and 2nd. This is a great conference that is focusing on Local and Mobile search.
I won a free pass to the first SMX in Aaron Wall’s SEObook, contest, so I figured it was my turn to ante up. I contacted Danny and set it up.
This is a full conference pass worth 1,195 dollars. but… You have pay for your own travel.
To win the free pass you have to do what I did, which was leave a comment or send an email (if you are shy) to me explaining why you should get the pass.
Humor, serious, clever, real, whatever… just let me know why you want the pass and I will choose the winner on Thursday.
Send emails to guidelineguy@gmail.com
Good luck!

Hey Pat,
Very cool!! I just sent you an email with my reasons that I am the best candidate. I guess I am feeling shy.

Everyone has been “shy” so far
When I won my pass I had to post my reasons in front of everyone on his blog!

Hey pimp.
(okay, I’m running away right now.)

- I think local and mobile search are going to be big - a very big relatively new and as yet untapped or saturated marketing platform - which makes them both pretty darn exciting
- I don’t know enough about it
- That means my clients don’t know enough about it
- SMX is the place to start learning more
- I like SMX
- I like Pat
- I like Danny
- I like wine
- I’m a very nice person
- I really, REALLY want to go
- This was my attempt at a mature and responsible comment… and that is not called sucking up - it’s called making friends and influencing people - I should probably read the book…

1. I am not shy and I will post this as a comment.
2. I promise to not ask the speakers long winded questions with no real point that are impossible to answer.
3. I can do the chicken dance.
4. I promise to share my power strip cord with anyone sitting near me that needs one.
5. I know how to fight flesh eating zombies and promise to help other conference attendees to escape should we become under attack.
6. I’m of the female gender and I will help even out the guy to girl ratio.
7. I have never been bitten by a monkey.
8. I promise not to heckle any of the speakers.
9. I know all the words to “CopaCabana”.
10. I promise to keep my shoes on through all the sessions.
11. This will be my first conference ever.
12. Being a mommy, I always have snacks, band aids and head ache medicine in my bag and promise to share with anyone in need.
13. My boss will have to finally order me business cards so I can hand them out at the conference.
14. I promise to repay the favor and offer a free pass to someone in the future.
15. You are still reading my list of why I should win….

Hey, you should give the free pass to me, because it’s been just too long since I’ve been drunk.

SMX in Denver is all about local search and I’m local to Denver. I live about a half hour away in Boulder and can potentially serve as a tour guide to anyone who’s visiting for the first time. I’m used to the altitude and won’t pass out from over exertion. I’ve also never been able to make it to a conference due mostly to a lack of finances so you’d be giving me an option to attend. You’d be responsible for my first time you know.
Does linking to SEOish count for anything? If it does include that as a reason. And I’ve always backed you on the claim you’re the handsomest man in SEO.

If I win and…
1)You are not going…I would provide you with all of the t-shirts and swag that I collect at the conference.
2)You are going…I would buy you many drinks. Not to mention, we could heckle Paul during his presentation.

Reason Why I should win the two passes:
-I like turtles!

I asked the boss if I could attend and the answer was “put the money in the bonus pool or attend the conference.” Well, I think both would be good and this is a way to make that happen. Besides, how better to get real understanding of the changing trends and needs to compete in local and mobile search than learn from the best. I promise I’d put the knowledge gained to good use helping my clients succeed (more money for the marketplace) and building the category (more dollars for those selling search in these areas). Had to include the last line in case the boss reads the post as well.
For those already with tickets - See you there.

Hi!
Why you should pick me for the conference pass:
1. I’ll buy you a beer
2. I’ll buy you another beer
3. I’ll continue the trend and pick up a pass to give away for another SMX event
4. The conference needs more cute, young ladies
5. Did I mention beer?
6. To share the power of knowledge I’ll write a kick-ass post for SEOish.com
7. It will be a sad, sad event without me :’(

Patrick,
Staying true to the idea of transparency….I believe you should be democratic about this, post everyone’s answers, and leave it up to your readers to vote on who we all feel is most deserving of this pass.
What do you say?

I would like the free pass for a few reasons.
1. I have never been to any conference myself.
2. In my three years of SEO experience, I have always approached the tasks as more of an art than a science. It’s time I level that out.
3. I live in an area where I don’t get to talk SEO face-to-face with anyone (and my dog is starting to respond to “Google”).
4. I have recently taken a position with an Internet marketing firm that provides service solely to the hospitality and lodging industry. I reeeeeaaaaalllly need to get as tight a grasp on local and mobile search as I can.
5. You will be able to monitor my position at the conference from the reflection of my bald head.
