I would like the free pass for a few reasons.

1. I have never been to any conference myself.
2. In my three years of SEO experience, I have always approached the tasks as more of an art than a science. It’s time I level that out.
3. I live in an area where I don’t get to talk SEO face-to-face with anyone (and my dog is starting to respond to “Google”).
4. I have recently taken a position with an Internet marketing firm that provides service solely to the hospitality and lodging industry. I reeeeeaaaaalllly need to get as tight a grasp on local and mobile search as I can.
5. You will be able to monitor my position at the conference from the reflection of my bald head.

Staying true to the idea of transparency….I believe you should be democratic about this, post everyone’s answers, and leave it up to your readers to vote on who we all feel is most deserving of this pass.

1. I’ll buy you a beer

3. I’ll continue the trend and pick up a pass to give away for another SMX event
4. The conference needs more cute, young ladies
5. Did I mention beer?

I asked the boss if I could attend and the answer was “put the money in the bonus pool or attend the conference.” Well, I think both would be good and this is a way to make that happen. Besides, how better to get real understanding of the changing trends and needs to compete in local and mobile search than learn from the best. I promise I’d put the knowledge gained to good use helping my clients succeed (more money for the marketplace) and building the category (more dollars for those selling search in these areas). Had to include the last line in case the boss reads the post as well.

SMX in Denver is all about local search and I’m local to Denver. I live about a half hour away in Boulder and can potentially serve as a tour guide to anyone who’s visiting for the first time. I’m used to the altitude and won’t pass out from over exertion. I’ve also never been able to make it to a conference due mostly to a lack of finances so you’d be giving me an option to attend. You’d be responsible for my first time you know.

Does linking to SEOish count for anything? If it does include that as a reason. And I’ve always backed you on the claim you’re the handsomest man in SEO.

1. I am not shy and I will post this as a comment.
2. I promise to not ask the speakers long winded questions with no real point that are impossible to answer.
3. I can do the chicken dance.
4. I promise to share my power strip cord with anyone sitting near me that needs one.
5. I know how to fight flesh eating zombies and promise to help other conference attendees to escape should we become under attack.
6. I’m of the female gender and I will help even out the guy to girl ratio.
7. I have never been bitten by a monkey.
