		<description>I dont think either you can get penalized for non related links, and/or for links in the widget, unless you exaggerate in stuffing, number of links in it, etc,...The non related issue arises because a related link counts more than a non related, but not because the non related hurts your seo efforts</description>

		<description>I think I tend to agree with you on this, off-topic is not necessarily bad. I think Matt and co need something to go on, and relevancy is the best they can come up with.

It certainly won&#039;t help you as much when your links aren&#039;t relevant, but I&#039;ll take an off topic link from a decent site any day, and I&#039;ll bet most webmasters will too.</description>
