New Official Google Gadget Editor
For those of you who are experimenting with Google gadget creation, there is some big news. The Google Gadget API Group thread announced the new scratchpad.
The new Google Gadget editor allows you to save and upload your files. Yum.
Lets have a look at it shall we? It is live below.
See line #5? (you have to click the little “x” first)
It says “Hello World!” if you replace that “hello world” with any text , html, or javascript, you can click the “preview tab” and see what a gadget would look like. Sweet.
The editor allows you to do quick testing, it is particularly useful if you are dumb like I am and don’t really know what you are doing.
This gadget is what used to be called the “scratchpad” in the official Google gadget API area. But now it is wayyy updated and has (if you are logged into your Google account) tons of new and useful features. It can also be embedded in your blog or webpage, as seen above or at the Gadzi page.
Google also announced a new section to their API documentation about “Improving Gadget Performance”
