SEO News Google Gadget

This gadget is tailored to automatically show the feeds of SEO news sites. Stay current with four SEO news sources from your Google homepage. The gadget displays the current articles from the top SEO sources.

See the latest stories from SearchEngineLand, SearchEngineWatch, SE Roundtable, and SEOish without having to know anything whatsoever about feeds or how they work. Just click on each tab to see the latest articles from each news source. It is live below, so click a tab to check it out.

The SEO News gadget will be part of my series of articles of how to make (or customize) Google gadgets even if you don’t really know what you are doing.

There is enormous opportunity in gadgets, and often you will be able to make or customize gadgets and tailor them to a certain field or specialty.

This gadget is based off of Daniel L.’s four tab feeds gadget, but I have “told it” to display SEO news feeds. This can be done pretty easily, but many people just don’t want to (or are scared to) have to mess with code. If you do not mind playing with code a little, use his code (he wrote it, not me).

If you just want SEO news, then add the SEO News Gadget now.

    I will try it. So far I use google alerts and get a lots of emails – sometimes its annoying.

    Google alerts can be a great tool, but as you said, it means alot of emails. I use google alerts for obscure things only. Thanks for trying the tool. You can configure it to have what ever feeds you want in it. Let me know what you think

    Hey Pat,

    I’m just starting to look into Google Gadgets properly, using your site as my starting point. Am I right in thinking I could easily hack that code to add more tabs, or would it become unusable tabwise due to width restrictions.

    I had also thought I could just add a load of feeds into one gadget or is that not as easy as it sounds?

    Any pointers would be much appreciated.
