Thanks Pat! – Good tutorial! – It gave me some ideas.

I just noticed that you can right-click on then gadget in Fire-Fox and select open frame in a new window. You can also right-click to view page source and grab the code. I’ll start playing around with that stuff.

Hey Dave, sorry it took so long to get your comment up, it got stuck in a spam filter (arrrgh) I will be doing some article on crating gadgets. I did one that might point you in the right direction, but it isn't really good, i was totally drunk when I wrote it.... but it discusses Google custom search engine gadgets specifically How to make a gadget even if you are drunk

I like to create custom search engines but haven’t made any real gadgets yet.
I like the custom search engines because you don’t need to be a programmer.

Here is a Hawaii related custom search engine I made.
hawaii.search.googlepages [dot com] /home

I posted it on Google pages because the URL makes it look a bit more official.
I use it quite a bit but I’ve never promoted it so it doesn’t get much use. If it did get used, I would make a few bucks off of the ads.

I like the idea of creating a gadget and then paying for Google to display the gadget on other websites via Gadget ads but I haven’t tried that one yet.

Could you do a post on creating gadgets? I’d like to give it a try.
