Local Search is very important. We have spent thousands of dollars to research the best way to optimize what is now known as Google Places. I want to post my website on local listing website and when I search this term I got this post. It is well explained about local listing. But I am not getting local listing websites.

I wonder what causes a search to trigger a map with local listings. When I search for localized keywords around my business, there is no map and no local listings. Could it be because Google knows that our company and our competitors provide service nationwide? How are they that smart?

It is amazing how important it is once you verify your listing to make sure you fully and completely fill out all of the information and add pictures. It made a big difference for us!
